ALPINE BACKCOUNTRY WILDERNESS FIRST AID

Survive First Aid and Alpine Access are stoked to be partnering up to offer winter backcountry-specific first aid courses for you in 2024 in the Australian snow country.

The 4 Day Alpine Wilderness First Aid Course is ideal for those who require first aid skills in a remote alpine wilderness environment.

The course has been designed to give participants the knowledge and skills to help manage a patient for a prolonged period of time whilst waiting for emergency services to arrive, with a focus on practical training and realistic scenarios to be run in the snow using a combination of the Avalanche Training Center Sites and the backcountry.

Participants are required to study some online learning modules (these are accessible pre, during and post the course) and completion of a pre course exam that then allows Survive to focus on practical training sessions and realistic scenarios in the alpine environment. Some pre-knowledge in use of beacons/shovels/probes and companion rescue is essential.

Survive First Aid is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 40764) specialising in Remote and Wilderness Training Solutions throughout Australia. Using the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines as our base, a team of paramedics (who form our medical advisory team), ensure the training is both relevant and current within the area of First Aid and Emergency Response. Successful completion of our courses awards participants statements of attainment detailing the relevant National Units of competency that have been achieved.
